Volunteer

Chef in the Garden is made possible through an incredible network of volunteers who are willing to share their time and talents.

Monthly volunteer opportunities include:

Kit packing: Volunteers meet at FnB restaurant on one Sunday afternoon each month (1-3pm) and help pack up the ingredients and supplies for that month's recipe.

Kit delivery: Volunteers meet at FnB restaurant the very next Monday morning (9-11am) and pick up kits that were just packed. Volunteers will then drive to a group of 2-4 schools and drop off the kits. Each of the schools that a volunteer is assigned are all in the same general area, and the delivery simply involves bringing the kit to the front office staff.

Chef demos: Volunteers assist our chefs at various school sites at various times through the month. These typically occur on Mondays and Fridays, and involve helping with setting up, assisting students during the lesson, and then assisting with cleaning up. This is, again, around 2 hours, with times varying for each school.
